We are thrilled to introduce Matt Gray, who has joined our team as the Senior Engineering Manager of Solutions. With his impressive background and extensive experience in the material handling (MH) industry, Matt is poised to make a significant impact on our organization.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Matt brings with him a strong work ethic and a passion for innovation. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, where he developed a deep understanding of engineering principles.
Originally coming from a manufacturing background, he has always been drawn to the new challenges and rapid technological advancements that define this dynamic field. His expertise lies in custom automation equipment, where he has dedicated his time to conceptualizing hardware and systems that are not readily available in the material handling marketplace.
As the newest addition to our team, Matt is excited about the opportunity to lead and grow our solutions team at SRSI. His vision and strategic mindset will undoubtedly enhance our capabilities, allowing us to provide innovative solutions to our clients and stay at the forefront of the industry.
Reflecting on recent events, Matt recognizes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the MH industry. The growth in consumer demand for home delivery services skyrocketed, propelling the industry forward by three to five years within a remarkably short period. While the growth has tempered slightly, it has not waned. Matt believes that this presents a unique opportunity for small and mid-level distributors to leverage new advances in automation and take advantage of the increased efficiency and flexibility offered by emerging technologies. Additionally, local delivery centers, such as those found in grocery stores, are set to benefit from these developments, shaping the future of the industry.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Matt has a zest for the great outdoors. Whether it’s mountain biking, exploring in his RV, or hiking, you can find him outside. In the words of Ted Lasso, “Be curious, not judgmental,” is a favorite quote of Matt’s.
