Joining us from Crested Butte, Colorado is Katie Allen, Account Executive of Systems Solutions! Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus on advertising, public relations, and marketing from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. While studying there, she also worked as a student-athletic tutor and had the opportunity to study abroad in New Zealand. As her capstone project, Katie developed a client book for a local organization committed to reducing waste and protecting the environment through optimized efficiency.
Originally from Arkansas, Katie moved to Crested Butte in 2020 and has since made it her home. She worked at a local coffee shop frequently visited by SRSI systems engineer, Paul Olaru. After a few conversations, Paul introduced her to CEO Ben York and SRSI. Impressed by the company’s mission, Katie was eager to join and embrace a new challenge in a different industry.
Katie is passionate about meeting new people and learning from them. She recognizes that one of the main strengths of her role at SRSI is the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of individuals. Her short-term goal is to participate in a site visit and fully understand all aspects of the operation. In the long run, she hopes to become an independent team player trusted to handle site visits and other responsibilities.
Katie sees great potential for SRSI to lead the industry in innovation and technology. She is excited to travel to different sites across the country and build internal and external relationships. Katie also enjoys painting and exploring the beautiful outdoors of Crested Butte, including hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Her favorite quote is, “A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference. Kindness is never wasted.”
